Artifact One: OL650 Organizational Effectiveness
The first artifact I selected for the Organizational Leadership Program is my paper, “W4.A1: Case Study: The Sullivan Hospital System,” an assignment for the fall semester of 2023 for the class OL650 Organizational Effectiveness. This artifact, a significant milestone in my academic journey, not only represents program outcome #1, “ Interpret the context and environments in which organizations operate” (SMUMN, 2019, p.1), and course objective #1, “ Articulate organizational problems at the individual group (including team or unit) and organization levels of analysis.”(SMUMN, 2019, p.1), but also showcases my growth and dedication to the field of Organizational Leadership.

This assignment was about understanding the organizational structure of the hospital system and employee involvement issues, but it was a crucial step toward improving the organization. After thorough analysis, I identified potential changes that could significantly benefit the organization. I shared them with the group, valuing their input and making them an integral part of the process. I also considered the appropriateness of employing a total quality management intervention. The results of this analysis led me to propose alternative interventions that could bring substantial improvements to this organization. This development of understanding was a significant part of the course objectives of articulating organizational problems. The particular analysis and knowledge I gained helped me develop a systematic process of identifying various levels of organizational structure and group and individual challenges. This detailed process of problem-solving skills and my ability to think critically and strategically are essential in organizational leadership.
